What is its maximum size? Golden danios typically grow to a maximum size of about 2 inches (5 cm) in length.

Where are they from? Golden danios are native to the streams and rivers of Eastern India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

How many can I keep? Golden danios are social fish, and they thrive when kept in groups of at least 5 individuals or more.

How compatible are they with other fish? Golden danios are generally peaceful and compatible with a wide range of non-aggressive fish species. They can coexist well in community tanks with other small fish that prefer similar water conditions.

What are the ideal water conditions? They prefer slightly cooler water temperatures ranging from 64-75°F (18-24°C) and a pH around 7.0. They can tolerate a wide range of water hardness. The Golden Danios that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions.

How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Male golden danios tend to be slimmer and more elongated than females. In mature males, you might notice a more vibrant coloration and the development of small tubercles called “breeding tubercles” on their snouts.

Fun Fact: Golden danios are known for their active and energetic nature. They are fast swimmers and often display playful behaviour, darting around the aquarium with their striking golden coloration.
