How hard are they to keep? Yellow fire shrimp are generally considered beginner-friendly and relatively easy to keep. They are more tolerant of varying water parameters compared to some other shrimp species.

What is its maximum size? Yellow fire shrimp reach a maximum size of around 1.5 inches (3.8 cm), making them a small and manageable addition to your aquarium.

Where are they from? Yellow fire shrimp are a colour variant of the popular Neocaridina davidi shrimp, originating from Taiwan.

How many can I keep? You can keep yellow fire shrimp in small groups. A general guideline is to have at least 5 to 6 shrimp per 5-gallon (19-liter) tank to ensure social behaviour and minimize stress.

How compatible are they with other fish? Yellow fire shrimp are generally peaceful and can coexist with small, non-aggressive fish. However, caution should be taken with larger or more aggressive fish, as they may view the shrimp as food.

What are the ideal water conditions? Yellow fire shrimp thrive in a pH range of 6.5-8.0 and prefer a water temperature of 72-78°F (22-25°C). They are adaptable to a wide range of water hardness levels, but a neutral to slightly alkaline pH is preferable for their overall health. How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Distinguishing male and female yellow fire shrimp can be challenging. However, females tend to have a more pronounced saddle-shaped reproductive organ on their back, especially when they are carrying eggs. Males are generally smaller and slimmer.
