How compatible are they with other fish? While generally peaceful, Serpae Tetras can be slightly nippy, especially towards long-finned or slow-moving fish. It is best to avoid keeping them with delicate or fin-nipping tankmates.

What are the ideal water conditions? Serpae Tetras prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions, with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. The temperature should be maintained between 72-80°F (22-27°C). How do you tell the difference between male and female? It can be challenging to distinguish between male and female Serpae Tetras based on physical characteristics alone. However, males often have more intense coloration and may display increased aggression during breeding.

Fun Fact: Serpae Tetras are known for their vibrant reddish-orange coloration and distinctive black body markings. These markings are reminiscent of flames, earning them the nickname “Jewel Tetra.” Despite their small size, they can add a burst of colour and activity to a community aquarium.

These can be found in tank Number: 3
