How hard are they to keep?

They?re quite easy to keep, making them a great choice for both beginners and seasoned aquarists. As long as you provide a well-maintained tank with plenty of hiding spots, they?ll be happy.

What is its maximum size?

Lemon Bristlenose Plecos stay relatively small, reaching about 4-5 inches (10-12 cm) in length. Their manageable size makes them perfect for a variety of tank sizes.

Where are they from?

These plecos are originally from the rivers of the Amazon Basin in South America. However, the Lemon variety has been selectively bred for its striking yellow colour.

How many can I keep?

You can keep a single Lemon Bristlenose Pleco in smaller tanks (20 gallons or more). In larger tanks, you can keep multiple plecos, but make sure there?s enough space and hiding spots to prevent territorial disputes.

How compatible are they with other fish?

They?re very peaceful and get along well with most community fish. They?re bottom-dwellers, so they won?t bother other tank inhabitants and are unlikely to be bothered in return. Ideal tankmates include tetras, guppies, and other non-aggressive species.

What are the ideal water conditions?

Lemon Bristlenose Plecos prefer a temperature range of 68-82?F (20-28?C) and a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. They like soft to moderately hard water. How do you tell the difference between male and female?
