How hard are they to keep? Kribensis are considered to be relatively easy to keep and are suitable for beginner fishkeepers.

What is its maximum size? The maximum size of Kribensis is around 4 inches (10 cm) for males and slightly smaller for females.

Where are they from? They are native to West Africa, specifically Nigeria and Cameroon.

How many can I keep? Kribensis can be kept in pairs or small groups. It is recommended to have at least one male and one female when keeping them as a pair.

How compatible are they with other fish? Kribensis are generally peaceful fish but can become territorial during breeding. They can be kept with other peaceful community fish, but it is best to avoid keeping them with aggressive or larger fish that may intimidate them.

What are the ideal water conditions? Kribensis prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range between 6.0 and 7.5. The water temperature should be maintained between 75°F and 82°F (24°C to 28°C). They appreciate a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding places, such as caves or plants. The Kribensis that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions.

How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Male Kribensis typically have longer and more pointed dorsal and anal fins compared to females. Females tend to have a rounder belly, especially when they are carrying eggs.

Fun Fact: Kribensis are known for their exceptional parenting skills. Both the male and female actively participate in guarding and caring for their offspring. They will fiercely defend their territory and do whatever it takes to protect their young
