How hard are they to keep? Kuhli loaches are generally considered easy to keep and are suitable for beginner fish keepers.

What is its maximum size? Kuhli loaches typically grow to be around 3-4 inches (7-10 cm) in length.

Where are they from? They are native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia and Malaysia.

How many can I keep? Kuhli loaches are social fish and do best when kept in groups of at least 5 individuals.

How compatible are they with other fish? They are peaceful and generally get along well with other non-aggressive community fish.

What are the ideal water conditions? They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5. The temperature should be kept between 75-86°F (24-30°C). Providing soft sand or fine substrate is beneficial for their well-being. The Kuhli Loaches that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions.

How do you tell the difference between male and female? It can be difficult to determine the sex of kuhli loaches. However, males are sometimes slimmer and more elongated in body shape compared to females.

Fun Fact: Kuhli loaches are known for their eel-like appearance due to their elongated bodies and snake-like movements. They are also nocturnal creatures and spend much of their daytime hiding in the substrate or decorations, only becoming more active during the night.
