How hard are they to keep? Marble Mollies are relatively easy to keep, making them suitable for beginner fish keepers. They are hardy and adaptable to a variety of aquarium conditions.

What is its maximum size?  Marble Mollies can grow up to 4-5 inches (10-12 cm) in length, with the females being slightly larger than the males.

Where are they from? Marble Mollies are native to the freshwater rivers and streams of Mexico and Central America.

How many can I keep? Marble  Mollies are social fish, so it is recommended to keep them in small groups of at least 3-4 individuals.

How compatible are they with other fish? Marble Mollies are generally peaceful and can coexist with other community fish. However, they can be fin nippers, so it’s important to choose tankmates with long-finned species carefully.

What are the ideal water conditions? They prefer slightly alkaline water with a pH between 7.5 and 8.5. The temperature should be kept between 72-82°F (22-28°C). Regular water changes and good filtration are important for their health. The Marble Mollies that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions.

How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Males are usually smaller and more slender, with a modified anal fin called a “gonopodium” used for reproduction. Females are larger and rounder, especially when carrying fry (baby fish).

Fun Fact:  Marble Mollies are livebearers, which means they give birth to fully formed fry instead of laying eggs. They are also known for their ability to adapt to a wide range of water conditions, including slightly brackish water.
