How hard are they to keep? Glowlight Tetras are relatively easy to keep. They are hardy and can adapt well to a wide range of water conditions.

What is its maximum size? The maximum size of a Glowlight Tetra is around 1.5 inches (3.8 centimetres).

Where are they from? Glowlight Tetras are native to the rivers and streams of Southeast Asia, specifically Borneo and Sumatra.

How many can I keep? Glowlight Tetras are schooling fish, so it is recommended to keep them in groups of at least 6 individuals. However, the more the better to create a visually appealing display.

How compatible are they with other fish? Glowlight Tetras are generally peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful community fish that prefer similar water conditions. They should not be housed with aggressive or fin-nipping species.

What are the ideal water conditions? Glowlight Tetras prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. The water temperature should be kept between 72-82°F (22-28°C). Providing soft, well-filtered water and a well-planted aquarium will help replicate their natural habitat. The Glowlight Tetras that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions.

How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Male Glowlight Tetras tend to have a brighter red coloration than females. Females may also have a slightly rounder belly when they are ready to breed.

Fun Fact: Glowlight Tetras get their name from the bright red-orange stripe that runs horizontally along their body, resembling a glowing light. When kept in a properly set up tank, the Glowlight Tetras can create a beautiful display with their vibrant colours.
