What is its maximum size? Amano shrimp can reach a maximum size of around 2 inches (5 cm), making them one of the larger shrimp species commonly kept in aquariums.

Where are they from? Amano shrimp are native to Japan and South Korea, where they are known for their algae-eating abilities.

How many can I keep? You can keep a group of Amano shrimp in your aquarium. It is often recommended to have at least 3 to 5 shrimp per 10 gallons (38 litres) of water.

How compatible are they with other fish? Amano shrimp are generally peaceful and can coexist with a variety of fish species. They are known to be good tankmates and are often used as natural algae control for community aquariums.

What are the ideal water conditions? Amano shrimp prefer water with a pH range of 6.5-8.0 and a temperature range of 70-80°F (21-27°C). They can tolerate a wide range of water hardness levels, but a slightly alkaline to neutral pH is generally preferred. How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Differentiating between male and female Amano shrimp can be challenging as they do not display significant physical differences. However, females may have a slightly larger and wider abdomen, especially when carrying eggs.
