How hard are they to keep? The Sparkling Gourami is considered relatively easy to keep. They are hardy fish that can adapt well to various water conditions, making them suitable for beginners.

What is its maximum size? Sparkling Gourami’s are small fish, reaching a maximum size of around 1.5 inches (3.8 cm).

Where are they from? They are native to Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. They inhabit slow-moving streams, rice fields, and other freshwater habitats.

How many can I keep? It is recommended to keep sparkling Gourami’s in small groups or pairs. They are social fish and having at least three to five individuals will provide them with a more natural and interactive environment.

How compatible are they with other fish? Sparkling Gourami’s are generally peaceful fish and can coexist with other similarly sized, peaceful community fish. They should be kept away from aggressive or fin-nipping species.

What are the ideal water conditions? They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions, with a pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.0. The water temperature should be kept between 77-82°F (25-28°C). Providing them with dense vegetation, floating plants, and some hiding spots will create an ideal environment for them.
