How hard are they to keep? Roseline Sharks are considered moderately difficult to keep and require specific conditions to thrive. They are best suited for intermediate or experienced aquarists.

What is its maximum size? The maximum size of a Roseline Shark is around 5 inches (13 cm).

Where are they from? Roseline Sharks are native to the Western Ghats region of India, particularly the Sahyadri Hills in Kerala.

How many can I keep? Roseline Sharks are social fish and should be kept in groups of at least 6 individuals. They appreciate the presence of their own species and will display natural schooling behaviour.

How compatible are they with other fish? Roseline Sharks can be slightly aggressive, particularly if they feel overcrowded or are kept with slower-moving fish. They are best kept with similarly active and robust species, preferably those from their native region.

What are the ideal water conditions? Roseline Sharks prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.5-7.5. The Roseline Sharks that are for sale have been climatized to our local water conditions. The water temperature should be maintained between 73-79°F (23-26°C). They appreciate well-oxygenated water, ample swimming space, and a planted aquarium.

How do you tell the difference between male and female? Male Roseline Sharks are typically more colourful and vibrant, displaying bright red/orange coloration on their bodies. Females, on the other hand, have less intense coloration and may appear more silver or gold.

Fun Fact: Roseline Sharks are often referred to as “Miss Kerala” because they were officially named after a beauty pageant winner from the Kerala region of India.
