What is its maximum size? Red leopard molly fish can grow up to 4 inches (10 centimetres) in length.

Where are they from? Red leopard molly fish are originally from Central and South America, specifically Mexico and parts of Venezuela.

How many can I keep? Red leopard molly fish are social and should ideally be kept in groups of at least three to four individuals. However, they can also be kept in larger groups as long as the aquarium size meets their requirements.

How compatible are they with other fish? Red leopard molly fish are generally peaceful and can coexist with other peaceful fish species. They are compatible with other mollies, guppies, tetras, and peaceful bottom-dwelling species. However, it’s important to avoid keeping them with aggressive or fin-nipping fish.

What are the ideal water conditions? Red leopard molly fish prefer slightly alkaline water with a pH between 7.5 and 8.5. The temperature should be maintained between 70°F and 82°F (21°C to 28°C). How do you tell the difference between male and female? Male red leopard molly fish tend to be smaller and more slender compared to females. Males also have a modified anal fin called a gonopodium, which is used for reproduction. The males’ gonopodium is longer and narrower than the females’ anal fin. Additionally, males may display more vibrant coloration and have a larger dorsal fin compared to females.
