How hard are they to keep? Kity Tetra is relatively easy to keep and suitable for beginner aquarists. They are hardy and adaptable fish.

What is its maximum size? Kity Tetra typically reaches a maximum size of around 2 inches (5 cm).

Where are they from? Kity Tetra originated from the rivers and streams of South America, particularly in the Amazon River basin.

How many can I keep? Kity Tetra are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of at least six individuals or more. They feel more secure and exhibit natural behaviour when kept in larger groups.

How compatible are they with other fish? Kity Tetra is generally peaceful and can be compatible with other peaceful community fish. They should not be kept with aggressive or larger predatory species. Compatible tank mates include other tetras, peaceful rasboras, and smaller catfish.

What are the ideal water conditions? Kity Tetra prefers slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.5. The temperature should be maintained between 72°F to 79°F (22°C to 26°C). They prefer well-filtered water with a moderate water flow. Providing plants, driftwood, and suitable hiding spots in the aquarium will create a more natural and comfortable environment for them. How do you tell the difference between Male and female? Distinguishing between male and female Kity Tetra can be challenging. Males may exhibit brighter coloration and have more extended and pointed fins compared to females. Females may appear slightly rounder in the belly when carrying eggs.

Fun Fact: Kity Tetra’s  have a golden-orange body with a distinct black line from the eye to the tail, resembling a sunbeam. This striking coloration adds a unique beauty to any aquarium.
