Where are they from? Blue cherry shrimp are a selectively bred colour variant of the Neocaridina davidi shrimp, originating from Taiwan and selectively bred in captivity for their vibrant blue coloration.

How many can I keep? You can keep a good number of blue cherry shrimp in your aquarium due to their small size. A guideline is to have at least 5 to 10 shrimp per 5-gallon (19-liter) tank to allow for natural behaviour and reproduction.

How compatible are they with other fish? Blue cherry shrimp are generally peaceful and can be kept with small, non-aggressive fish species. However, caution should be taken with larger or aggressive fish, as they may prey on the shrimp. It’s best to provide adequate hiding places and vegetation in the tank.

What are the ideal water conditions? Blue cherry shrimp thrive in a pH range of 6.5-8.0 and prefer a water temperature of 70-78°F (21-25°C). They are adaptable to varying water hardness levels, but a neutral to slightly alkaline pH is generally recommended for their overall health.
