Golden Wonder Panchax

Latin Name: Aplocheilus lineatus

Other Names: Striped Panchax, Golden Wonder Killifish. ?These dazzling fish are a real treat for the eyes with their shimmering golden hue and lively nature. Perfect for adding a bit of sparkle to your aquarium.

How hard are they to keep?

They?re relatively easy to care for, making them a great choice for both beginners and experienced aquarists. As long as you provide the right conditions, they?re quite hardy and straightforward to keep.

What is its maximum size?

Golden Wonder Panchax can grow up to about 3-4 inches (7.5-10 cm). They?re not too big, making them suitable for a variety of tank sizes.

Where are they from?

These stunning fish originate from India and Sri Lanka, where they inhabit slow-moving waters like ponds, ditches, and streams.

How many can I keep?

You can keep a small group of them, typically around 3-5. They?re not schooling fish, but they do enjoy a bit of company. Make sure there?s enough space for them to swim around without feeling crowded.

How compatible are they with other fish?

Golden Wonder Panchax are generally peaceful but can be a bit predatory, especially towards smaller fish. It?s best to keep them with similarly-sized or larger fish to avoid any tankmate becoming a snack. Ideal companions include larger tetras, barbs, and other peaceful community fish.

What are the ideal water conditions?

Aim for a temperature range of 72-82?F (22-28?C) and a pH level between 6.0 and 7.5. They prefer slightly soft to moderately hard water. Good filtration and regular water changes will keep them in top condition.

How do you tell the difference between male and female?

Males are usually more brightly coloured and have longer fins compared to females. Females tend to be a bit rounder, especially when carrying eggs. During breeding season, males become even more vibrant as they try to attract a mate.

Fun Fact:?Golden Wonder Panchax are known for their jumping ability. They can leap out of the water, so make sure your tank has a secure lid to prevent any escapees. They?re quite the little acrobats!

Tank Number: These can be found in tank number 29
